One of my favorite scriptures is from Psalm 103: Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Oh my, I have so many. Ps. 91:11 He gives His angels charge over us! Is. 41:10 He holds us with His righteous right hand. Ps 51:10 Create in me a new heart. Matt. 11:28 go to Him and He will give us rest. I love that the words "His mercy endures forever" is found so many times His Word. (mostly in Psalm) I find comfort in the 23rd Psalm and The Lord's Prayer. My list could go on and on and on.
I love the last one from Isaiah you posted. I don't remember ever hearing that verse before. I know I've had to have read it, but I don't remember it.
Micah 6:8 in the Message version is really a good one, I think. Brings it all down pretty simply. "But he's already made it plain how to live, what to do, what GOD is looking for in men and women. It's quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don't take yourself too seriously--take God seriously."
