Mark your calendars because this has been a red-lettered week! I've actually posted something every.single.day since Monday. Pappy said it had probably been over 2 years since I'd done that. Sometimes I think I'll just give up on the blog,
then I have "productive" weeks like this one and realize that it truly is my "outlet" even if it is often sporadic. Thanks to each and every one of you who hang in there with me and a special thank you to those who link up here each Friday with your fotos.
Last SONday we attended the dedication of a newly planted church in the house where Pappy and I lived when we were first married, over 41 years ago. This is a very old house, but it's been remodeled and is so full of love - and the Holy Spirit! We were honored and blessed to be invited to attend this special ceremony dedicating this "house" to the Lord. The windows in the "sanctuary" are the original windows and they've put this stained glass look cling on them and I think it's gorgeous! I'm thinking about doing something like this to the sidelights on our front door!
My brother and I take week about mowing my Mom's yard - and Y'all, what a yard she has to mow. It takes over 2 hours to mow it and by the time this old gal gets off that lawn mower, she can barely walk and is exhausted. After mowing last week, I sat on the front porch with Mom and she was looking up at the sky and said.....
"Look at those clouds.
They look like big cotton balls.
That's God's creation."
Growing up my Mom never talked about the Lord, not so much until probably the last year or so. It blesses my heart to hear her honor Him and to be able to talk about Jesus with her.
Another sky pic early one morning this past week.....
That's it for me!
It's been a great week and I'm looking forward to the weekend, although I have no big plans. How about you? Any craft festivals, or pumpkin patches, or just hanging out at home?
Whatever your plans, HOPE everybody has a wonderful weekend!

I know the feeling of blogging every day and than not wanting to blog at all. I've been there and done that. LOL! The window looks like real stained glass and what a blessing to have a newly planted church in your own home. Have a blessed day ahead and weekend dear Debbie.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful stained glass! It was so nice of you to mow your mother's lawn. At the same time you got a blessing of being able to talk with her about God. Hugs and congratulations on posting every day this week :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't even try anymore to post something every day...I just can't seem to get my thoughts together well enough to make sense...so yes, I am rather sporadic in my posts as well, but figure it's better to post less and make more sense (at least I hope it does). I love that you have that time with your mother, even if you did have two hours of hard work...it was worth it I know. So glad you took the time to enjoy the clouds of God's creation together. Those are special moments you will treasure in your heart. Love the stained glass window...how wonderful that your old home has become a sanctuary for the Lord. What could be better than that? How thoughtful of them to invite you to share in their dedication of that home to the Lord. I know that was a fulfillment of God's blessing for you. Thank you for sharing these things with us today. That made me smile.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos - hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written. Have a lovely day, friend .
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful that you have such nice visits with your MoM. WoW, I could never mow, not these days...Mr D always kept our yard looking so nice, he is a great yardman. But these days we have it done, they do a good job but not as good as Mr D always did..{{sigh}} I understand about blogging, sometimes I have the same thoughts. I love the stain glass, I've thought of trying that and just haven't done it...that's me, full of great ideas that I never pursue!! Blessings to you my dear friend!
ReplyDeleteThose are some beautiful sky photos!! I has been great seeing you here more often! God is good!! How great that your old place of residence is not a church to worship our Lord and Savior!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky and clouds!
