I'm loving going into the stores and seeing all the fall displays.....
my favorite time of the year!
Progress is slow on the she-shed - we're just happy it's "home". I helped him move it into place the day after we got it. (the garage in the background belongs to our neighbor) Here are a few pics.....
Pulling it into place with the lawnmower
Pulling nails - Pappy didn't get a pic of my better side (not that I have a better side)
Relaxing in the area where the "porch" will be
I've been posting a few items for sale on Facebook. I'm not expecting to make a lot of money, just get rid of way too much stuff in this house. I've met some of the nicest folks on there.
I finally bit the bullet and got my hair cut really short - maybe a bit too short, but it'll grow, right?
I might post a foto of it later this week.....
or next month, after it's grown out a bit!
I've discovered something about myself lately. Well, I already knew it, but I think after way too many years I'm coming to accept that I truly am a square peg in a round hole, that I dance to the beat of a different drum, that I just don't fit in a lot of the time. It's been a struggle for most of my life, feeling like an outsider, like something is wrong with me, desperately wanting someone to understand, but God has given me a peace about it. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but this past Sunday something just clicked and I've felt different since. You know that saying that God don't make no junk - I believe that applies to even me - insecurities and all!
This coming SONday at church is the day set aside to recognize the Special Friends ministry. I love these dear kiddos (except they aren't kids) so much. I call three of the ladies "my girls" and they are just precious to me.
Since I got the haircut I felt like it was a good time to also try to get back on track with eating better. Don't even ask me why I think one goes along with the other - I'm just crazy that way (remember square peg in a round hole)! Just putting it here so that maybe I can be more accountable.
Our temperatures are supposed to be more "fallish" after today's rain. I'm soooo ready for all, anybody else with me?
I could probably ramble on and on, but I'll stop right here.
HOPE each and every one of you has a Terrific Tuesday!
Love the shed progress and you sitting where the porch will be! After many years of having my hair short for nursing, I've let it grow and it looks a bit shaggy right now. The back is down my shoulders onto my back and the sides are just about at my shoulders. My hair has thinned a bit throughout the years and so I look a bit shaggy but I want to get it longer and then be able to get a bob of sorts even all around. I'm excited to see your new short do!
ReplyDeleteThe shed is going to be so cool when it's finished. I can't wait to see it. Already the sitting area looks so comfy. You look right at home. My hair is shorter now than I've worn it in a long time, but I kinda like it that way. Mostly because it is just so easy to take care of. And I'm all about it being quick and easy. I hope you will enjoy your haircut too. And there is nothing wrong with being a square peg in a round hole. As you said, God doesn't make junk and He loves us just the way He made us. I'm so glad too! I've listened to the lies of the devil for way to many years and I think I'm finally starting to get a little better to listening to God instead. At least I hope I am. It's a work in progress.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day.
My latest haircut is a little too short too, but it is growing in. My hair does grow fast. It is so fun seeing your she-shed in place and I am anxious to follow the transformation!! Great post today!! Love & hugs!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear friend you are going to love your She-Shed. I so wished we had built a little porch on the front of mine but we didn't. Maybe one day. But I do love it as it holds so many of my things I decorate with and especially my DISHES! LOL! I can't wait to see your hair. I bet it is super cute. Lady, God for sure don't make no junk and you are absolutely splendid to Him. Matter of fact, you are His masterpiece! Now that just gave me the Holy Bumps! WOW! He sure loves us so much and I love you! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI had to giggle about dancing to a different beat....girl, you know I already do too...always had. I'm often referred as the red headed step child. It use to be funny, but you know, it's ok. Smiles
ReplyDeleteOH !!!! your she-shed is going to have a porch too! That is so wonderful. I had a little laugh about you thinking your a square peg in a round hole and that you dance to a different beat....because.....I tell Mr D all the time that it seems I'm always going against the flow!! We are such kindred spirits.
