Pappy and I took a little weekend trip to Asheville, NC to celebrate my birthday last weekend. I didn't take many fotos but wanted to share these two with Y'all. After the snow we had last week, I thought for sure there'd be more snow than what we saw. Not much snow, but lots of ice hanging on the rocks along the Interstate.
This was the sky leaving our kiddos house the evening of my birthday.....
The sun was trying it's best to shine one cold, gray day last week. (taken out our back door)
This church always has something neat posted on its sign.
I'm calling this one "food for thought"!
We'll be heading to our kiddos house in the morning to watch Super Bowl #3. This is the third year our boys have had their very own Super Bowl playing against one another and we're invited to watch and then have a cookout.
Life is good, Y'all!
HOPE your weekend is full of stuff that makes you happy!

What a lovely drive! We have the ice formations here on our rocks along the highway, and it is always gorgeous to see! You got some great pictures of the mountains as you drove, and beautiful skies too! Have fun with your super bowl party this weekend :) Many hugs to you today!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post, love the food for thought quote and the moody skies but that ice one is quite something - a wow snap.
ReplyDeleteDiana
Thanks most sincerely for hosting, dearest Debbie, and for sharing such gorgeous shots, as well!
ReplyDeleteSending blessings on your weekend ahead,
thinking of you with much love
XOXO Dany (Daniela at ~ My little old world ~)
Oh, looks like I missed your birthday so first let me say "Happy Birthday" albeit belatedly. I hope you had a wonderful day. I see you went out of town and drive and change of scenery is always good especially at Winter. I do love the last shot of the sun bravely trying to 'smile' through the clouds and the church sign is very funny as well as giving food for thought. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those pictures from your little trip! Love seeing the ice along the hillside, and the mountains in front of you...and the sun shining through the clouds, etc., All beautiful!! And yes, that church sign is excellent "food for thought". Love it!! Have a wonderful weekend with your "kiddos". You are so blessed!!
ReplyDeleteLove, love the photos, what a pretty drive, smiles....Um...the Super Bowl is next weekend???? Not that we care, we wont watch it...thanks to the kneeling and the NFL's nonsense.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos and great church sign Debbie. Have a blessed day and weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove the sign at church . Did you go to the biltmore ? I’ve never been there and have always wanted to go . Great pictures Deb . Hugs and blessings , Cindy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo's Debbie, I love the church sign.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I always enjoy reading church signs. Some are very clever, like this one. Have a great time with your family.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I love your header pictures. That cardinal against the dark branches is beautiful. I've been seeing some cardinals around here, but so far haven't gotten a picture.
ReplyDeleteThe sky shots are so pretty and I love the frozen waterfalls. And the church sign quote is so true. I'll have to show that to the man that does our church sign.
A happy belated birthday to you and I love the pictures! The frozen ice off the rocks is very cool. The church sign is funny. I've been giving a lot of thought these days to idle words. Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteLast time I saw ice like that was the year we lived in Canada. Hope lots of precious memories are made with your family tomorrow. Fun times for sure!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! We really enjoyed our visit to Asheville. Enjoy your Super Bowl #3! What fun!!
ReplyDeleteMy son just moved here by us from Asheville. He loved it there.
