I recently bought myself a little gardenia bush for only $7. Because we planted it in an area of our yard that we're newly landscaping, one of the blooms got a bit dirty so I picked it to enjoy the fragrance. I laid it up on an old rusty wagon wheel to take a picture of it and felt God speaking to my heart through this simple little blossom.
I Corinthians 6:20
For ye are bought with a price:
therefore glorify God in your body,
and in your spirit, which are God's.
I bought this little flower with $$$$.
But, I was bought with a price that I could never afford, nor deserved, the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
I Corinthians 15:53
For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die;
our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.
This flower smells heavenly, but it's not a fragrance that I could stand to smell continually.
Some day I'll have a new body that WILL be able to contain all the joy and honor and praise and glory that I'll sing to HIM!
1 Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel,
“Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him.
For the Lord sees not as man sees:
man looks on the outward appearance,
but the Lord looks on the heart.”
This gorgeous white flower has some dirty spots on it and some would think that takes away from it's beauty. But, I was dirty with sin when our precious Heavenly Father saw something beautiful in me and drew me to Him.
I can't help but wonder how many things God has tried to teach me and I've been too busy to look and see and feel and understand. As I grow older, I'm trying to slow down a bit and take more time to just BREATHE in HIM!
HOPE everybody has an awesomely blessed SONday!
