I'm gonna share a few things I've jotted down in my notes the last few weeks mostly to document them here.....
but just maybe they'll speak to someone else, too.
Several of these are things I know in my heart, but it's getting my mind to listen.
(some of the scripture is written as it spoke to me)

A mistake Christians make in worship is seeking an experience rather than seeking God -
we look for a feeling.
Faith, not feelings, please God.
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
God's power is enough to overcome the relatively minor obstacles in my life.
It doesn't work because I try to manage whatever the struggle is in my own power -
I forfeit using His power.
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
Romans 8:11 and Ephesians 1:19-20
These verses all speak about how we, as Christians,
have the SAME POWER within us that raised Christ from the dead.....
WOW!
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
I'm no longer a slave to sin because Christ has set me free.
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
Lessons can be learned from my past.
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
I'm not God. ;-)
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
What do I do when God seems silent?
Continue to worship.
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
God puts within us an unspoken nudge toward doing what we know is right -
there's also an unspoken rebellion in me that nudges in a different direction.
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
Romans 8:12
I have no obligation to do what my sinful nature urges me to do.
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
Don't be troubled by trouble.
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
God is real, no matter how I feel.
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
Admitting my hopelessness to God can be a statement of faith.
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
Never doubt in the dark what God told you in the light.

This was a prayer I read in a devotional and it reminded me of one of the main reasons for my blog.....
Lord, in however much time I have to be with You,
speak to me.
Fill me with Your Spirit so the fruit of our time together will overflow to the people You have placed in my life.

"I'm not God"--how poignant is that? Beautiful friend, have a lovely day. smiles
ReplyDeleteI can relate, Deb! Thanks for sharing this with us.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful thoughts-thank you!
ReplyDeleteAwe. love this Deb. I write in my Bible, journal and in the back of my bible I write a lot of things that is said to me or said in a sermon or etc. I need to do this one day. Just write it out again on my blog knowing that something I wrote might speak to another. Hugs and blessings my friend. Cindy
ReplyDelete"Don't be troubled by trouble"...that one was for me. Thank you, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThis was wonderful. I love all these thoughts and quotes...they actually correspond well with what I just posted about "No Turning Back". We all struggle with sin, even when we are saved. The human flesh just doesn't want to let us be free...but thanks be to Jesus, when Christ sets us free, we are free indeed! We just need to let Him do His work and release us from the bondage that we seem to want to cling to. Your thoughts are wonderful responses to that. Thank you for posting this today.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading this before bed and it filled me with such peace! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI loved all of your quotes, but perhaps the one that I loved the most was this: Admitting our hopelessness is actually a statement of faith! When I realize my best efforts are nothing, and that His strength is made perfect in my weakness, there is a glorious realm of faith to stand in and then to see the Lord do what only He can do. Wonderful words shared today my friend, appreciate you and your heart for the Lord!
