- 1.a period of waiting
Many times in the last couple of weeks the word "wait" has shown up in devotionals and books I've read so I know God is speaking to me about the situation we're currently in. I took some time yesterday to do a bit of Bible study on waiting and here are some of the scriptures I found.....
"God blesses those who wait -
faithful people do not rush ahead of Him to solve their own problems but instead rely on His power and goodness".
~~~Commentary on Isaiah 30:18, NLT Study Bible~~~
HOPE these verses from the precious word of God will help anybody reading this who might be going through a transition in your own life. Let's try to remember that the Lord is in the waiting, too, not just in the outcome.
Waiting on the Lord can surely be hard for most of us. I know it is for me. But I also know that it has always been worth the wait. Happy Wednesday Deb. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Debbie! Thank you so much for the Scriptures that you've shared here this morning concerning waiting on the Lord. Each one is so precious and comforting. I have one particular thing I am desiring to see take place...a situation where I can't do anything about it and will take the Lord to accomplish it. As I was reading down over these Scriptures the morning my heart was encouraged. HE has NOT forgotten me or my request. HE is teaching me to WAIT. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you for this today! It is just what I needed to read as I am rushing around trying to get things done. Wait. His timing is perfect!
ReplyDeleteGreat.
ReplyDeleteWaiting...especially when one has patience of a gnat, giggling. Thanks Deb...have a beautiful day friend.
ReplyDeleteIt seems the Lord is encouraging us both to trust in Him completely, and to wait for His perfect plan to come to pass, and I just wrote about this on my blog. Waiting is never easy, but always worth it, in God's plan! Hugs to you today :)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of two words I chose for myself this year. Wait ... and Abide. I thank you for this post and I am going to copy and save it as I journal about waiting. Thank you, Debbie. And thanks for all your comments on my Hodgepodge answers this morning.
ReplyDeleteWait is one of the hardest things for most of us to do. So hard to do nothing.
ReplyDeleteOh that was so much for ME! Thank you Deb! Loved the pictures with the verses...all so calming and peaceful...and restful as we wait upon the Lord. Thank you for this message today. I needed it.
