{ Wednesday's Word - Rain }

Image result for scripture about rain

As I'm typing this it's pouring down rain outside.  That might not mean much to some of you, but to those in our area it's a sound straight from heaven because we've been under an extreme drought with no measurable amount of rainfall since July 5th (something I heard on our local news). You can't even see the  ground for the leaves, but that is perfectly okay.

Rain.....glorious rain!

This will give all the exhausted firefighters a reprieve from all their hard labor fighting the fires in Gatlinburg.

The rain will, hopefully, get rid of the smoke in the air that is making so many sick (including Pappy and me).

The rain will soak into the ground and cause the yards and trees and shrubs to drink it in and come back to life!

We don't always see the rain that comes into our lives as "life-giving" but as a burden or a hindrance.  As I grow old(er), I'm realizing that we need to be thankful for those stormy, rainy times because they make us to grow stronger in our faith and help us face the next trial with a little more HOPE and assurance that everything is going to turn out okay!

If we'll only trust in the One Who sends the rain!

  1. Love your header, it's so pretty!
    I was so happy to hear you got rain this morning on the news. We did also, we hadn't had rain in weeks. Thankful for it.
    I was so sad to see that Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge had so much fire damage. We have visited these towns so many times and love them. Praying for all!

  2. Praise the Lord for the rain Deb. We have been praying for all the fire and I shared with Marty about the smoke being so bad in your neck of the woods and we prayed for you and Jack. Prayers still abounding. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  3. Praise God for the rain! That is truly an answer to many prayers from across this nation. We have been watching the fires from a distance, and praying for God to Rain down His real rain, and also His love upon the people of your region. I know it will be a difficult time ahead for people as they try to restore their homes and lives, but so thankful for God's provision. He will not leave you all comfortless.
