Pappy and I spent most of the day last Saturday out and about. We visited one of my favorite little towns near us, Newport, TN. There's a great thrift store and a little hole-in-the-wall store that has lots of cheap junk merchandise! It's just a small town at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains and is just a skip, hop and jump to Cosby where lots of people from around these parts love to visit Carver's Apple Orchard. That's on our agenda for our next visit this fall.
I love this motel that's part of the old downtown area......
We drove into an area we had never been before and came upon this bridge with beautiful purple flowers in planters down both sides.....
I'm missing Pappy since he's gone back to work, but I'm getting tons of work done.
Be sure and link up your photos below.
HOPE everybody has a great Friday and weekend.
Love the stone motel and lovely way to decorate a bridge flowers. I too feature flowers in my Friday Foto Friends post. ;) Have a lovely weekend dear Debbie.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a most interesting outing! Good for YOU!
ReplyDeleteThat stone bridge is so beautiful with those flowers dripping down the side. Those old stone buildings are so nice to see, and I wonder what the rooms are like in that motel. Too many have fallen into disrepair. It's always great to see good preservation (or new that looks old, anyway). Great share, Deb!!
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! I do miss that part of the world (and Chattanooga too). What lovely photos, Deb. Have a beautiful day friend.
ReplyDeleteHey, where's the link? smiles.
That motel is stunning ♥

What a quaint motel! Did you go in? I love to go into old hotels and see what they are like. Ah, Deb, my heart aches every time I see photos of Tennessee. Some day! Maybe we'll even be neighbors!
ReplyDeleteWould love to stay a night in that motel, very quaint. I know the house must be quiet with Jack back at work, but I know what ya mean about catching up on housework. I love Mr D being retired, we have so much fun together ~ but I must say my housework has suffered. Oh well, I'd rather enjoy Mr D than dust and mop anyway!
ReplyDeleteThe motel and those purple flowers are gorgeous! Would love to be able to grow flowers like that. Someday I'm going back to the Smoky Mountains. They look so beautiful. How wonderful to live so close.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful motel. I once saw one similar outside Gettysburg, Pa. That highway is wonderful. I love when towns keep things pretty.
ReplyDeleteI have family in Tn. It is a beautiful state.
Have a lovely day Debbie!
What a beautiful place! When hubby and I are free to travel more we hope to go into that area. The Smoky Mountains...
ReplyDeleteLooks quiet and peaceful!
ReplyDeleteThat certainly looks like a lovely place to visit! I love the mountains...someday we hope to take a trip up there again, especially during the fall. Thank you for sharing this with us. Blessings to you today.
ReplyDeleteWow, I love the flowers on the bridge!
ReplyDeleteLovely bridge with the purple flowering plants.
