{ Taking a stand }

In light of the things that happened this week in Louisiana, Minnesota and Texas, maybe it's time to share my opinion, for what it's worth.  I think so often as Christians we fail to stand up for what we believe in.  I can only speak for myself and what our own family has witnessed in that area of our lives,   but I think many times when we do just that very thing we get "shot down"......
not physically, like the shootings this week, but shot down with rejection and criticism and even being blasted from fellow Christians.  My husband stood up a few years ago for something he believed was wrong that was taking place in a church and the pastor, from the pulpit, criticized him.  Oh, he didn't call him by name, but he spoke all about him and after the sermon was over his wife immediately came out of her seat and back to where I was standing.....
and hugged me.
She knew that I knew.
I was absolutely dumbfounded and mortified and felt so sorry for my husband.
My husband is a very good man.....
(he has his faults, but so does his wife)!
and yet criminals and thieves are still allowed to serve in positions and work with our children and other Christians just turn a blind eye and support those who fall right in line with their agenda to serve and just keep their mouths closed and allow anything and everything of this world inside the walls of what is supposed to be a house of worship to the ONE TRUE GOD!  Then, people wonder why you don't say much and why you shy away from serving "in the church", and you're met with more criticism and rejection and being humiliated because of words spoken from those who have not a clue what you've been through, who once again are looking to "fill a slot" and wonder why you won't step up and fill it.

So, what do you do?
You write a blog, or pray for and get a job that's a service ministry to those in need, or you quietly give to a hurting person, or you be a Prayer Warrior for anybody who calls on you, or you ask the Lord to send you somebody to help each day, or you do "little things" in the church that others can't see and you don't want them to know about.....
because you're a Christian and you want to be a faithful servant.....
to GOD.....
not man.

Back to my original thoughts on the killings this week.  I think it's time more Christian stand up for what is right even if it meets criticism by our peers.

So.....
I am not a Democrat and I am not a Republican.
I am a CHRISTIAN!
I was born in the United States of America.
My forefathers wrote something called a Constitution which I'm seeing trampled on more and more the older I get and can't help but wonder what kind of world my grand children are going to be living in if the Lord tarries His coming to call His children home.  The founding fathers of this country gave us the right to bear arms.  The current administration and one of the Presidential candidates are trying to take away that right,
among many other rights they have absolutely no business messing with.

So, here's my thought.
Many of the killings are by those who "have the right" to carry a weapon.
Police are killing innocent civilians.
Civilians are killing innocent police.

People kill people.....
not guns!

Our country needs prayer.
Each of us as individuals need prayer.....
and love.....
and acceptance.

Galatians 1:10
Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people,
but of God.
If pleasing people were my goal,
I would not be Christ’s servant.

  1. {{{clapping}} BEAUTIFULLY said sweet friend...MLK niece was just on Fox News, Alveda, she always has wise words...I didn't / don't agree with something she said (those two fellows in LA & MO were killed because of their race, excuse me, one don't know that), but all in all...she is correct...

  2. Thank you, Deb for speaking out! It is a very sad affair to be attached verbally right in your own church. I've come to expect criticism and persecution from the world but not from those who profess faith in Jesus. Some times you just don't know who your friends are any more. I agree that it isn't the guns that kill, but the people who do. It is hatred and the devil's tactics and whispers to angry people that kill. I am in this world and trying to redeem the time and serve God as best I can but I do long for the time when all this anger and hatred will be done. God is still on His throne and someday He will be ruling here on earth. What a great day that will be!

  3. Thank you for this great post. I so agree with everything you said...we are living in dire times. Evil is everywhere and can't seem to be stopped. (We know it will be stopped and Who will stop it) Wrong is right and right is wrong. More than ever I understand why Jesus Christ must come to save us from ourselves. Love what Melanie posted, "God is still on His throne." Amen and Amen

  6. Amen, sister, amen. Couldn't have written my thoughts any better.

God insists we take a stand for what's right. Every time. We were told time and time again we will be persecuted for loving Jesus. Look at the first Pope =- the "Rock," Peter: so many don't realize he was tortured and put to death for his beliefs, too. Stand resolved and firm in the Lord's Second Coming - be vigilant, be ready, be clean and sober and aware....this is Satan's playground, and he wants to take as many down as he possibly can before this is over.

Deb, praying for you and your husband. Hugs. ♥
