Hebrews 12:15
Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God.
Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.

Through the Armor of God study God recently revealed to me a "root of bitterness" that I'm harboring against somebody whom I thought I had forgiven. It's a very fragile situation because this is a family member. Something happened just recently and they don't even know that I know what they said, but it has hurt me to the core and I'm prayerfully trying to forgive and dig up and throw away that bitter root that is still within me. Looking back over my life, I've realized just how often God held me and took care of me and when I came across the above sign I knew it was meant just for me......
for such a time as this.
Ain't God good?
Oh, yes He is.
Praise God for His faithfulness and patience, I too have been shone that I Have held bitterness and thought I had forgiven to only find out I had choose to forget instead of forgive. Thanks for sharing,Deb.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are enjoying that study Deb. I love me some Priscilla! Bitterness....oh my! I carried around this fatal sickness for a long time. It was like a cancer...growing each day. I praise the Lord for restoration and healing. I was taking a Bible Study by Henry Blackaby and through that study God began to break me...piece by piece. It almost took me OUT sister! Love you for sharing. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteOH OH...how guilty I am...I just received a birthday card from my parents...and it bought back some memories...as the card was really sweet...it just shocked me because my parents aren't like that---I mean...to say such things...anyways....oh oh...I hear you where your coming from sweet friend...I truly do. Blessings

ReplyDeleteWe have an awesome God Deb, He always carries us through our hard times and hurt feelings. I am so anxious to do the Armor of God study. No one in my circle of the world is doing it right now. You are an awesome lady, feed the flowers that grow in your heart and throw that bitterness weed out with the trash! ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteGod is so patient with me. Thank you for this great post.
ReplyDeleteDeb, I've been through a study called "Transforming the Inner Man" and it deals a lot with bitter roots. I certainly understand where you are in this, I've dealt and am still dealing with the same thing. Praying for you as you go through this.
