A few months ago, I felt God speaking to my heart about KINDness. I really thought that was what He was leading me to focus on in 2016. As time drew near for me to really zoom in on a certain word,
I knew He wanted me to continue being as KIND as I could, even when it wasn't at all easy to do. But, I felt that there was something more He was asking of me. I came across the word MIRACLES, and really like it. I also like the word FOCUS.....
and AWARE.
Then, it just kinda hit me.
In order to do all of those things, I have to live in the PRESENT.
You see, I have this tendency to think way down the road.....
which, leads to fears and worry.
I want to FOCUS on the here and now.....
to be more AWARE of what's going on around me.....
to realize there are MIRACLES happening every single day of my life.
And, in order to do all those things I have to be PRESENT.
Suddenly, as I was PONDERing on these words, I remembered something that our daughter made me several years ago for my birthday.....
and I KNEW in my heart that PRESENT was the exact word God intends for me in 2016!
Isn't it funny how we see something every single day.....
but don't really SEE it?!?
(and look.....
it even has that word GRACE)
HOPE each of you have an awesomely blessed 2016!
Happy New Year!
Awesome story of how God brought you to the realization to live in the present in 2016. That sounds like something we should all do :-) All the best to you in 2016 ♥
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very happy New Year filled with kindness giving and receiving :)
ReplyDeleteKindness is a great word for 2016. The whole world could use a little more of that. Mine is Consistency.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Great word Deb. I forgot about the Friday Foto. Happy New Year you.
ReplyDeleteDeb, I love your word. Sometimes a word can encompass all sorts of other words! I'll join you for Friday Foto after awhile. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a joy to read how God brought you to your One Word for this new year. And made me think on Matthew 6:34. Happy New Year Mrs Deb!!

Happy New Year! Your word is perfect. We should all learn to live more in the present. The past can control us with the could've-would've-should'ves. The future can lead to fear of the unknown and worry about the unforeseen. But if you live in the Present you have more of a chance to truly enjoy every single blessing God has for us. Great word!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find and solving your word for the new year. I agree with Tori...the world sure needs a big dose of that. God bless you today.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and I can really relate. Sometimes, I overthink things and I'm so busy trying to figure everything out on my own that I forget to put it in God's hands and just let it be, too. Thanks for the reminder. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Deb! Sorry I didn't make Friday Foto Friends, will certainly join in next Friday!
