Did y'all hear any shouting yesterday around 1:30 p.m.?
If you did, it just might have been me.
A neighbor called to tell me that our heat pump was making a terrible noise.....
and shaking. We can't hear it inside our house, so first of all I was very thankful for her call. I immediately turned off the thermostat and hollered at Pappy who was working in the basement. We figured out that it started acting up when I turned it off emergency heat and back onto regular heat.
From what I read, when the unit is iced over, it will run on supplemental,
but not when you try to use just the regular heat pump.
So, what do you think I did?
Yep, I prayed.....
while Pappy took a hair dryer to the unit to melt the ice away that he couldn't knock off.
When we first turned it back on, it didn't work.....
and my heart sank.....
which was a total lack of faith on my part, I know.
Then, the fan started turning!!!
And, that's about the time you would have heard the shouting!
Thank you again, Lord.
Praise Your Name!
Ain't God good?
Oh, yes He is!!!

Breathing in Grace,
p.s....I also want to thank my precious husband who is truly a "Jack"-of-all-trades. I can't even imagine the $$$ he's saved us over the years by being able to make repairs around the house. I believe there truly is something in a name!!! ;-)
And, thank the good Lord above that Jack was home to clear the ice from the furnace.....
and that our neighbor heard and saw the heat pump singing and doing a little dance!!!
Yes, I thanked my hubby......
and called our neighbor afterwards to tell her the good news that the fan was again running and if not for her it would have probably just burned up.
I thank God for His goodness in ALL things......
good and bad.....
I just didn't see how we could afford a new heat pump right now!
Such great news about your heat pump! God does work all things out for us. All we need to trust. That is the lesson I'm learning this year. I'm glad everything is working well. Your hubby certainly does deserve appreciation. Have a blessed Sunday.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes it was great news, Ms. Melanie. I'm still praising Him for His Awesomeness! Paying for a new heat pump just isn't in our budget right now!
DeleteMy word for this year is " praise" and this verse has come up a few times already....love how God is in the details of our lives.......even the workings of a heat pump!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing what other's words for 2015 are. Mine is "ponder"....and God is truly giving me a whole bunch to ponder on so far this year!!! HOPE you have a great day, sweet Lady! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteMy blogging friend, Ms. Rebecca, at Sane, Simple and Sacred (http://lifeandgodliness-rebecca.blogspot.com/) left a comment that I tried to publish from my phone. I accidentally hit "delete" instead, and the comment disappeared into cyperspace. I'm so sorry, Ms. Rebecca, it was certainly not intentional. Here's the comment that I was able to copy and paste from my desktop.
ReplyDelete"Yes, God IS good (even though our sump pump isn't working and the fan that runs the heater in the car is not working)! He's good when He does AND doesn't answer our prayers when/how we hope. I'm glad your furnace is back up and running, Deb."
Note to Self: Don't try to do things on a small cell phone with your fat fingers!!! LOL
Hi Debbie! Oh my gosh, what a situation! What wonderful neighbors you have too. We truly do live connected to each other, and as you have shown, we have to act on that.
ReplyDeleteYou husband is amazing :) I wonder if we would have been able to figure out using a hair dryer? It's often the simple fixes that escape me. I'm so glad that everything turned out so well. Enjoy that heat!
Blessings,
Ceil
I'm so grateful for my neighbor who is also my friend. She's talking about moving and I'm voting "NO"!!! Yes, my husband is very handy to have around...I'm so blessed!
