Tasty Tuesday.....

076

I made these SONday afternoon after church!
I've been counting calories for several months now and let's just say,
there were way too many in these things to even know where to begin.

They were absolutely DELICIOUS!

I shared them with my brother and sis-in-law and my Mom......
but there were still plenty left over for Pappy.....
and me!

You can click here for a step by step recipe, with pictures....

2 whole Granny Smith Apples
2 cans (8 ounce) Crescent Rolls
2 Sticks Butter
(I used 1.5 sticks....of REAL butter)
1.5 cups Sugar
(I only used 1 Cup)
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Cinnamon
1 Can (12 ounce) Mountain Dew

Peel and core apples.
Cut each apple into 8 slices each.
(if you've never used one of those apple corer/slicer gadgets,
then you've been doing it the wrong way....like me)
Roll each apple in a crescent roll
and place in a 9 x 13 buttered pan.
Melt butter, then add sugar and barely stir.
Add vanilla, stir, and pour entire mixture over the apples.
Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
Serve with ice cream, and spoon some of the sweet sauces from the pan over the top!!

WARNING:
Make these at the risk of eating way too many and ruining your diet!

 Breathing in Grace,

  1. Hi, Deb. I'll bet my husband would really love me to make that for him. I'm cutting back on sugar, too, but I'm still going to copy and paste this recipe so that I can save it for later. Thanks for sharing it and enjoy the rest of your week... :)

  4. I bet Marty would love these. My precious MIL used to make something like this but used orange juice. It was always the hit of the party! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  5. Those look so good. I will have to try to make them. You are right, must be the week for recipes. I've seen several other blogs as well as yours and mine that have recipes. Makes me want to bake something tonight. :)
