Isaiah 55:8
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,”
says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”
As I've shared with y'all lately, my Mom isn't in the best of health.
We have to really keep on top of things going on in her life.....
(we, being my brother and myself).....
'cause she has a tendency to not take very good care of herself!
Last week was no exception.
I had to contact her doctors about some issues she was experiencing,
and went to her house a couple of days to just make sure she was behaving herself!!!
On Friday, while I was there, she handed me some money.....
which is very much unlike my Mom to do!!!
I asked her what it was for and she said.....
"when you feel in your heart that you should do something,
you just have to do it. And, I think you need the money more than I do".
Of course, we know that meant the Holy Spirit was prompting her.
Now here's the total "it's not odd, it's God" part.
She had just handed me the money and I was talking to her about it when Pappy called me to let me know that a minor traffic accident he had just been involved in had resulted in a citation. He was finding out this information about the same time that Mom was handing me a $100 bill.
I told him.....
jokingly
(or so I thought).....
"well, there goes the money that Mom just gave us".
And, he laughed and said.....
"well, God works in mysterious ways."
(at the time I DID NOT see the humor)
When I went on-line to find the amount of his fine guess how much it was?
$111.50!!!
So, our out of pocket expense is going to be $11.50....
and the price of a stamp!!!
Ain't God good?
Oh, yes HE is!!!
Philippians 4:19
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches,
which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
Breathing in Jesus,
Deb
(p.s....I've gotta admit.....
there are so many other things we could have used that money for.....
probably something totally selfish, though.
I'm so glad that God knows best!!!)

This post has made me smile today! WOW and YES, our God is good and it's not odd......it's God! All God! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteGreat testimony of how God provides for us....even before we know we need it!
ReplyDeleteI just had to enjoy your new header for a while before I read your post. What a beautiful picture. God certainly is good. I would say you were blessed with a God Sighting!! Blessings and ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteI LOVE OUR GOD! He always provides for us. Sure, there are plenty of things you could have used that "extra" money for. But think of what you might have had to do without if that money hadn't been blessed to you just when it was. He knew. He provided. AMEN!
ReplyDeleteAwesome story about our Awesome God! In our years of ministry we have had many experiences such as this and had many church members share stories as well. Even though I know His timing is PERFECT, still I stand amazed in His presence every single time, and marvel at how good He truly is!
ReplyDeleteHi Deb! It sure does look like the Lord brought it all together doesn't it? Your Mom, you , Pappy...even the extra $11. I know what you mean about having other plans for that money. Maybe a bill or two, or something fun. But God knew it all, and provided without burdening you too much. He is so good!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this story, and giving us all a reason to praise him.
Blessings,
Ceil
