Following HIS example

Mark 1:35 (NKJV)
Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.

Several weeks ago, this verse of scripture was part of our Sunday school lesson.  As it was read out loud, I thought to myself that Jesus was setting an example for us to follow....to spend quiet time in prayer with our Lord....before our day gets too hectic.  Several of the ladies told how they take the time each morning to get up earlier than they really need to so they can spend time with HIM before they go to work.

As many of you know, Pappy and I read the Bible thru last year.
(please see Reading the Bible Thru page above)
We decided not to do that again this year.
Instead, I've spent some time doing research on Biblical topics, such as "Women of the Bible"....but the word in that sentence that I'm ashamed to point out is "some"....not nearly enough time has  been devoted to HIM.  But....after I stared getting up each morning....sitting down with my Bible and a daily devotional....and spending time talking to HIM....
and absorbing HIS word....what a difference it's making!!!

Especially....in my outlook....and attitude!!!
;-)

Remember those little bracelets that everybody used to wear....WWJD?
What would Jesus do?

Well....HE would NEVER allow Himself to get in the shape that I do sometimes....because HE chose to spend time with HIS Father!!!

JESUS is our Perfect Example!!!

Is it just me, or does the dark cloud in the sky look like an "evil spirit"?
Don't you agree that's what we "ward off" when we spend time with HIM!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. Thanks for this word...just today I was thinking about how I skip days sometimes because of being tired or bored with the devotional that I have chosen for this year. Praise God that He doesn't get tired or bored of me!
