Pondering

Do you ever get a word on your mind and you sorta "ponder" the meaning of that word?!?!?
I really like the word "ponder"!
Here are a few definitions I found....
"to wonder"
"to weigh in the mind"
"to think about; to reflect on"
"to think of deeply"
"to consider carefully and thoroughly"

One of my favorite Bible verses that we read this CHRIST-mas season is about Mary, the mother of our precious Lord and Savior.  Can you even begin to imagine how this young, teenage mother must have felt?  Try to put yourself in her place....can't you just feel yourself how overwhelmed she must have been at all that was happening around her?  There was just so much going on that it must have been mind boggling.....but Mary, being the quiet gentle soul that I imagine her to be.....

Luke 2:19 (KJV)
But Mary kept all these things,
and pondered them in her heart.

Don't you sometimes look back over your life as a Mom (or Dad)....and you "ponder" all the little things that your child(ren) did...(and now that I'm a Nannie, I do that with the GRAND-sons, too).  You remember their first teeth....first words....first steps....first day of school!!!  All those things we think back on with such fond memories.  As Jesus grew, I believe that Mary was just like all Mothers....that so often her mind went back to that night of "our dear Savior's  birth".....and she remembered every little detail.....from Him being born in a dirty stable.....to the visit from the lowly shepherds.....to the time when the "wise men" visited Him with their gifts in hand....and Mary, with so much HOPE and expectation in her heart...."pondered" all the things that had happened!!!

My HOPE is that this CHRIST-mas season....each one of us can ponder in our own hearts the wondrous gift of JESUS....and what HIS birth brings to each of us who believe.....
....EVERLASTING LIFE!!!

Psalm 111:2
How amazing are the deeds of the Lord!
All who delight in Him should ponder them.

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. I find myself 'pondering' much since the nest became empty. And I have often pondered about what must have been going through Mary's mind.
