Day 06 - Something you hope you never have to do
When I first read this "truth"....the first thing that came to mind that I hope to never have to do....was to bury another loved one. I lost my Dad in 1994, and that was a very difficult thing for me....but....we buried my Dad knowing that we would get to see him again....in HEAVEN.
So...the thing that I really hope to never have to do....is bury a loved one, or a friend....who dies without first accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Most of you who follow my blog....probably know what my convictions are by now. I believe in a risen Savior....who I know came to earth as a man....a human....but who NEVER sinned....and suffered and died the cruelest of deaths on the cross....for my sins.
I also know in my heart....that I didn't deserve His death for me....I should have had to pay for my own sins....but if I had been the only person on the earth....in the history of time....who needed a Savior....He would have chosen the cross....for even me!!
Our Sunday school teacher shared with us Sunday morning that a cousin of hers had passed away last week....and he died without having accepted Jesus. I've thought a lot about that. It makes me wonder how many people....family and friends, or just acquaintances....that I've failed to witness to....or maybe they were watching me at a moment in time that I was acting less than a Christian.
So....if you're reading this...and you've never accepted Jesus into your heart....please, please....do it before it's too late!!!
The ABC's of Salvation
All of us are in need of salvation.
Each of us has a problem that the Bible calls sin.
Sin is a refusal to acknowledge God's authority over our lives.
All of us are sinners, even though it's sometimes hard for some to admit.
Romans 3:23
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God".
Read Romans 3:10-18
Admitting that you are a sinner and separated from God is the first step of repentance, which is turning from sin and self....and turning toward God.
Believe
Believe in Jesus Christ as God's Son and receive Jesus' gift of forgiveness from sin.
John 3:16
"For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life.
Confess
Confess your sins to your Heavenly Father....and by faith accept Jesus into your heart. After you've done this....share your decision with somebody else.
Romans 10:9-10
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
I don't write these words being condemning of anyone....or accusing....just with the HOPE that if you're reading this....and you haven't accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior....that you'll....
....Admit....Believe....and Confess....
....today!!!
