Mishmash Monday

Today's post is gonna be one of those that's just a "mishmash" of things that's been going on....or fixing to go on....or that I wish would go on!!!
Now that I have you thoroughly confused.....here goes!!!

1) Yesterday was our GRAND-son's birthday!!
He turned 4 years old.
I know we're trying not to eat out on Sunday's.....but we had to celebrate, so we took the boys for chocolate shakes at Arby's.  I mentioned that it was Sam's birthday and everybody who worked there sang "Happy Birthday" to him....they gave both boys free curly fries....and after we were seated, the manager came back and gave the boys toys....they were soooo excited!!!
I thought that was so very precious of that sweet lady...and we told her so.  We'll be going back to that Arby's more often....not for freebies....but,  because they were so nice!!!

Here's a pic that Jess took of him that I think is absolutely adorable....of course I feel that way about every photo of the boys!!!

2)  Aubrey Louise
For those of you who have asked for an update on our great-niece....she weighed 4 lb 10 oz and they named her Aubrey Louise.
Congratulations, John and Mariah!!!
She's one of 3 brand new babies to be born to our family this year.
So glad I got her blanket made early!!!

3)  Weight Loss Update
Next Sunday, August 1st, will be my next "photo session"...ha! ha!  I'll give an update of my progress....or lack of....next week!!!

4)  I know there's a heat wave sweeping the country....well, somebody at church yesterday told me the entire world (global warming?!?!?)....anyway....the heat index for this area has been over 100 for the last week, or so.  I wish we could average out the temps and let them be around 75-80 year round!!!
Don't ask for much, do I?

5) In case you're wondering....it's 151 days until Christmas!!!

6)  I love it when God sends little things to confirm decisions that I've made.  I linked to an older song in an e-mail I sent last Friday....and on our way to church Sunday morning, they played the song on K-Love!!!
God is just soooo good!!!

7)  Speaking of God....which I love to do.....something happened recently that I took to Him.  All thru the day, I tried to take it back....and each time I said "get thee behind me satan".....and said, a few times out loud...."God, it's Your problem now".
And....guess what?!?!?
I think I handled that problem better than any I've had in a long time.
Remind me of this the next time, okay?

8)  I finally got the baskets painted for the cabinet that I sawed off to make room for our new fridge.
As soon as Pappy and I can get the cabinet trimmed out....I'll share some photos.  It turned out rather neat!!!

9)  And....speaking of photos.....I'm gonna try to share some of our bedroom makeover soon, too.
I want to get a couple of pillows finished up first....and try to find my before pics that seem to have gotten lost with the computer melt-down.

10)  And....speaking of computer melt-downs....Pappy has mine running again...and it's much faster....but I seem to have lost quite a bit of stuff.....but, since I'm not sure what....maybe what I don't know won't hurt me!!! ha! ha!

11)  I made a discovery!!!
I really think I have the ugliest feet EVER.....but I love to wear sandals.  Since I can't really afford to have pedicures.....I just keep my toenails polished.....that way when people glance down at my feet....hopefully they notice the nail polish, instead of the gross feet!!!
YIPPEE!!!

12) Okay....this is probably TMI....but I go this week to pick up the prep kit to prepare for my colonoscopy.  I had one at 50 which didn't go well AT ALL.....this time I'm going to be out like a light.  I so very much dread the "studying" for the test, though!!!
Hey....maybe I should wait until the second week of August to post about my weight....if you catch my drift!!
HA! HA!

Anyway....that's it for me today, precious readers!!!

Hope all of you have a blessed week!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. Thank you for the update on Aubrey. What a beautiful name for such a tiny thing.
Feet? Mine, too. I do the same thing.
Beautiful photo of the Grand Son.
I actually like this post. Lots of STUFF there.
    Have a great day.

  2. My post today is about me getting a mammogram and you all getting necessary tests. We, especially as women, tend to avoid them.

A year ago I wrote about my colonoscopy. There's never TMI is you're setting the example for others to take care of themselves, and for you to take care of yourself.

    Good for you!

    Arby's and weight loss? That's a diet I should look into! ;)

Congrats on your newest family member, Aubrey! Welcome to the world, little one!
Sending prayers for a better colonoscopy...
& it is my belief that fancy toes make feet cute!

  5. I wouldn't be so sure about the ugly feet! I call my husband's feet "Fred Flintstone feet"! Thank goodness none of the boys inherited them!
Colonoscopy: UGH! I have a couple more years before I have to endure that!

  7. Sounds like you had a pretty good week. Good luck with the colonoscopy. My husband had one a couple of years ago. Fun stuff.
