.....'cause the ear's not listening!!!
Do y'all remember that little phrase from several years back? Or....is it still popular today, too? Since I don't have a teenager living with me any longer and I'm not around them much these days....well, I'm not sure what's "in" and what's not!!!
Anyway....I think the first time I heard the "talk to the hand" thing was from Jess....and no, she wasn't "talking back" to her Mom, or Dad!!!
When you put up your hand and say "talk to the hand", it's a sarcastic way of telling the other person that you don't want to hear what they have to say!!
I've personally never used the phrase....but, since I try to be as honest as I can with y'all....there are some people that I would rather not have to listen to ramble on and on and on!!
But....the point I'm trying to make (now who's rambling?!?!?)....is that I'm so grateful that God doesn't feel that way about me!!
I've often wondered if when I pray to Him....if He sometimes thinks "oh, no, not her again".....but I know that's not how our precious Savior feels about us. I think that He loves nothing more than for His children to talk to Him.....even if it's bringing yet another problem for Him to work out!!
There's only one stipulation....we must pray that He answers....according to His will....not ours!!!

1 John 5:14 (NIV)
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, He hears us.
Monday Blessings to each of you!!!
*Edited to add: For those of you reading this who go to church with me....you'll understand what I mean when I say that I had this written before our Sunday evening service!!!
God is sooooo good!!!
God is sooooo good!!!
Deb, I needed this. A few days ago I was around a person who couldn't quit talking about (what seemed to me) nothing! The person was NOT interested in anything going on in "my" life or what I thought! It was very uncomfortable for me and made me think less of this person.
ReplyDeleteYou're right! I see now that sometimes I'm like that with God. I will think more about HIM next time I'm talking to Him; speak less; listen more.
I need to be more God-like.
I am so thankful that God doesn't say "Talk to the hand!"

Beautiful new music.

Thanks for your post Deb. As always I love your posts. Such a God-given gift you have. Be blessed. Cindy
ReplyDeleteLove this verse and I love visiting with you on your precious blog! Always words that speak to me and encourage me!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful reminder Deb! I am glad too that the Lord is so selfless and giving to us..always hearing even the words we can't bring ourselves to say.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me. :o)
By the way, I wanted to tell you about a blog called 5 minutes just for me and she hosts a 'Sunday Song' event. You can link any song you like to her linky list. I've been linking my songs. She isn't particular what kind they are. :o) I told her I was going to mention her blog to you since you love music so much too.
Love,
