When I first started writing my blog....I felt like I had to write something "inspirational"....some kind of "devotional".....every single day. Then, it kinda dawned on me a while back that a lot of things inspire each of us in a different way....know what I mean? For instance.....when I read blogs that are mostly crafting, or decorating.....depending on the author.....somehow in the course of their posting....the love of God shines thru!!!
Not sure why I shared that with y'all....but anyway.....today's post is gonna be somewhat of a mish-mash of different things!!!
**************************************************
I told y'all a while back about the page tabs I've included on my blog. If you get a chance, check out the "Weight Loss" tab. I've shared a bit of my journey of trying to loose weight during the past 5 years!! What a struggle!!!
**************************************************
My red hot pokers are now in full bloom.....aren't they gorgeous?!?
**************************************************
I've had these baskets for a long time....got them many years ago from ABC Distributing (do you all love that company as much as I do....except for the excess shipping charges?!?!?)
I wasn't in love with the "natural" color....so, there's nothing a can of spray paint can't cure!!!
original color
new color....Oregano
(and so is our deck railing.....uh-oh!!)
This is such a good spray paint....and it should be for the price. I got it at Hobby Lobby....but with a 40% off coupon, it wasn't too bad!!!
If you spray paint very much....then, get thyself one of those handles....it's a lifesaver for your pointer finger!!!
(thanks for the tip, Jess!!!)
Final result....love how the lids look on the green
This probably won't be their final home....but I like them sitting beside this love seat...and they provide lots of extra storage!!!
**************************************************
Look how pretty these flowers are!!!
Wanna know why?!?
Because.....I bought decent potting soil this year, instead of that stuff that turns to concrete!!!
This is Scott's Potting Soil and I got it at Big Lots. It's supposed to feed your plants up to....I forget how many months!!! But, it was worth the extra expense...and I still have a bunch left!!!
**************************************************
Well....I think that's it for today....thanks for bearing with me in my post full of this and that!!!
Thursday blessings to each of you!!!
In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
Hi Deb,
ReplyDeleteI just saw that you visited me a few posts back...thank you.
These cone shaped flowers here, are so amazing. Very beautiful. And I loooove what you did with the baskets. Much better. I really like that shade of green.
Take care,
Mary Lou
Good Morning, Deb,
ReplyDeleteLove the post today...I know what you mean about thinking that every post needs to be "inspirational"...
but, you know, I think that even when we don't mention our Lord directly...He is throughout everything we do...and His love shines through us in whatever we write.
Your flowers are gorgeous...I'm headed for the garden today...it is supposed to be in the 80s on the coast! Yay!
Blessings,
Laura
Your Red Hot Pokers are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI remember abc distributing. Now it's called LTD Commodities :-)
I have some miniature chest of drawers I got from abc years ago. Painted mine. The one I gave my friend has been painted too! Thank goodness for spray paint!
Some days I leave your blog open and just listen to the music.
Have a blessed day!

ReplyDeleteRed Hot Pokers are Beautiful I have never seen those before love them and the Baskets
ReplyDeleteI've never seen red hot pokers. They are beautiful! I love the paint on your baskets. I have an old picnic basket similar to those. It's sitting here just waiting for a remodel and now I know what it's gonna get! Thanks so much for the inspiration.... Spiritual and crafty! Remember that we inherited our creativity from our Father. I love that thought!
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings!
Great ideas Deb! I'm starting to spray paint a lot and that handle looks perfect! I love the baskets and the potted plants. You are a pretty crafty lady!
