Oudoor Wednesday

Just want to share a few things in our yard that make my heart happy and make me smile!!!

 Purple Clematis
(which I'm hoping to move to the mailbox)
White Peonies (but we call them "pineys")
Mamaw gave me these.

Purple Rhododendron given to me by the lady I used to work for.  They were a gift for our 15th wedding anniversary.  There's one on the other side of the porch, too.

Old iron gate made into a planter....bought at Walnut Grove Nursery in SC
(no longer in business)
for our 25th anniversary

Another purchase from the same nursery

One of two planters hanging on the porch railing.
Can you tell I used a red, white and purple theme in my flowers this year?

Red Hot Pokers just starting to sprout out....the birds love these things.
My father-in-law gave us these and they've spread like crazy.
(any of my local friends want some?)

Strawberry pot bought at the nursery, also.
Most all of my 'hens and chickens' were given to me by my Mammie (my paternal grandmother).

Hostas in an old wheelbarrow my Mamaw gave me.

This picture makes me smile....we were playing outside and the boys parked their mowers and car  beside the front porch and called it their garage....and I couldn't bear to move them....so they're still there until they come back to play!!!

Hope all of you have things in your yard that bring you joy!!!

I'm linking to.....

Blessings to you!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. Good Morning, Sweetie!
Your flowers are so beautiful! Don't you just love Spring...after a dreary winter...all God's amazing colors! We have this gorgeous flowering crab tree in our front yard...the color is spectacular. I wish it bloomed all year...but know that I wouldn't appreciate it as much if it did.
Have a wonderful day and God bless,
    Laura

  4. You capture God's beautiful creation so well. Isn't it great of Him to let us enjoy His flowers?
I’ve enjoyed looking over your blog. I came across it through another blog I follow, and I’m glad I did. I am now a follower of yours as well. Feel free to look over my blog and perhaps become one as well.

  5. So many reasons to "smile"! I wish I had some "pineys" but will have to settle for your beauties...Also smiling at the way you worked your grandkids' playthings into your flowerscape. Enjoy!
