Kicking and Screaming

As I get ready for church on Sunday mornings, I have the radio in the bathroom on, tuned in to one of my favorite Christian stations!!!  

When the following song came on (The Good Confession by Andrew Peterson) I listened closely to the lyrics.....and here's the part that really spoke to me:

All I know is that I was blind but now I see that though I kick and scream Love is leading me.
And every step of the way His grace is making me;
with every breath I breathe He is saving me.
And I believe.

 

 Why is it that sometimes we just won't just go ahead and "let go and let God"?  

Instead, I often do just like the lyrics say....go kicking and screaming....just like a little kid....when it would be so much easier just to give in to what He's asking of me.  I've had enough experience to know....that He's always gonna be right there beside me.....He hasn't left me alone yet.....and I know He's not gonna!!!!

I also love that God not only saved me when I first gave my heart to him as a little eleven year old girl....but He continually saves me....

...."with every breath I breathe"!!!

(and most of the time....He's saving me....from myself!!!)
