I have a neat, simple recipe for y'all....but first....I've gotta show you one of my
Mother's Day gifts.
About a year ago I got a wonderful deal on my Bible. I bought it used on e-bay. I wanted the particular Bible that I got because both my Sunday school teacher and our assistant teacher use it. In case you're interested, it's "The King James Study Bible", by Thomas Nelson Publishers
(previously published as The Liberty Annotated Study Bible and as The Annotated Study Bible, King James Version).

Since I've carried it so much, the binding has started to fray a bit around the edges....so....I've been looking for a cover for it. I found one on e-bay....but couldn't bring myself to pay over $25 for it when you added on the shipping and handling (even though it did have my favorite word on it...HOPE). Pappy gave me some money for Mother's Day, telling me to buy the cover on e-bay....but....I decided I would look at a couple more places and if those didn't pan out, then I would bite the bullet and pay the $$$$. I'm so glad I waited.....because......look what I found....for $10....at local Bible book store.....
Need a closer look?
Could it be any more perfect?
I don't think so, either!!!
Ain't God good?
Oh, yes He is!!!
(by the way....see the little rocking chair I have the Bible on? My Mamaw and Papaw got it for me right before I turned 2 years old....yep....it's an antique....just has a new cover, of course!!!)
Now for the recipe.
I haven't tried this one yet.....but plan on it soon!!!
Oven Fried Taters
1 pound all-purpose potatoes, preferably Yukon Gold (2-4 medium), scrubbed
1 pound sweet potatoes (about 2 small), scrubbed
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon paprika
Salt pepper, to taste
Preheat to 450°F. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray. Cut each potato lengthwise into 8 wedges. Cut sweet potatoes into wedges about the same size. Place potatoes and sweet potatoes in a large bowl and toss with oil, paprika, salt and pepper. Spread the potatoes and sweet potatoes on the prepared baking sheet and roast for 20 minutes. Loosen and turn; roast until golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes longer. Serve immediately.
I love sweet taters....yum-yum!!!
Happy Friday Everybody....hope your day is blessed!!!
In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
It is PERFECT! :)
ReplyDeleteDear Deb, wow...that looks great! I think I will admire it from a distance, but I love the verse on your cover!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, Deb,
ReplyDeleteI love your new cover...and your adorable little chair! I have tried this recipe before many times...my "men" love it! I have one adaptation, however, instead of paprika...I toss the potatoes in seasoning salt (which contains paprika in it)...adds just a bit more zest.
Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
Laura

God is so good. What a gift that cover, being your favorite verse and all. Love the rocking chair and how meaningful both are and I make those potatoes all the time--hungry now. ;)
