Tetelestai

Have you ever heard the word "tetelestai"?
I hadn't....until a few weeks ago.
It's Greek for "it is finished".

Pappy and I went to a Good Friday service at a local church where 7 different pastors spoke on the last 7 phrases that Jesus spoke from the cross.

My favorite out of the seven....was the man who spoke on....."it is finished".

The word "tetelestai" (tuh-tell-is-tie)....is actually an accounting term.  When someone would borrow money, and the loan was paid off....the paper work would be stamped with this word....meaning that the debt had been paid in full.

A lot of people want to think that when Jesus spoke the words "it is finished"....that it meant His life was finished....but that wasn't the meaning behind the statement at all.

He really meant....that the debt had been paid in full....for the sins of ALL!!!

1 Timothy 2:5-6 (NLT)
For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.  He gave His life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.

Blessings to you!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
