Definition of marvel:
intense surprise or interest;
astonishment
astonishment
I heard a "marvelous" sermon this past Sunday.
I was literally on the edge of my seat listening to the amazing message this man of God brought. He shared a bit of "Bible trivia" that I thought might interest y'all, too.
I researched the word "marveled" on Bible Gateway and it appears in the KJV twenty-three times.....
.....but.....
.....as we learned Sunday....
.....only twice was it mentioned that Jesus marveled.
(if you'll click on the referenced scripture, it will take you to Bible Gateway so that you can read the story)
First.....
.....He was amazed at the great faith of a centurion:
Matthew 8:10 (KJV)
When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed,
"Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel."
Then.....
.....Jesus was again amazed.....at a lack of faith:
Mark 6:6 (KJV)
And he marveled because of their unbelief.
So.....
.....when God thinks about me.....
.....is He amazed at my faith and trust in Him.....
.....or is it just the opposite?!?!
Blessings to you!!!
In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
