Not Me Monday

I haven't done one of these in quite a while...but since I've had a birthday....and certainly ain't gettin' any younger....I seem to be having a lot more "not me's" these days!!!

1.  I did not decide to go run errands and get groceries....and lock my keys in the car.  I did not panic. And, I did not have to call Pappy and get him out of bed....because he was not sick....and he did not have to drive 30 minutes away to bring the extra little car opener thingy to let me in my car.  (and....just so you'll know....he was not mad....I mean really, he was not mad.  You've gotta know this man...he rarely gets upset.  I think he should have been named Job!!!).

2.  Speaking of locking keys in the car.  You know how you read on the Internet how if you lock your keys in your car, if you have an extra opener, then somebody can click it and the signal will come thru your cell phone and open the car. 
Well....that doesn't work.  I did not try that, since this is "not me" Monday....but I'm just sayin'....

....IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!

3.  I did not buy my Aunt a special, beautiful birthday card....and then fail to mail it. 
 (I'm tellin' 'ya....old age ain't pretty)

4.  I did not tell our GRAND-sons that we would take them for an ice cream cone....and then try to convince them that a Wendy's Frosty would be soooooo much better because they could get CHOCOLATE (and hopefully share with Nannie).....but actually.....I WAS NOT thinking it would be so much less messy!!! 

(we actually did end up at Micky D's because that's what they wanted....yes....we do let our GRAND-sons have their way....don't all Pappy's and Nannie's do that?!?!?!?)

5.  I did not decide to go to the dollar store.....in sweats wearing a visor (yes in the dead of winter....and, what's wrong with that?)....thinking there was no way that I would run into somebody I know....only to see a lady from church....who didn't  even recognize me at first!!!
Yep...that's how bad I looked.

6.  I did not buy those very expensive light bulbs....you know the energy saver, curly-q bulbs....knowing I was paying way too much....only to get home and see in the Lowe's ad that they have them for $6 for a package of six bulbs....and we did not stop at the dollar store on our way to church to take them back...so that we could stop at Lowe's after church to get the cheaper bulbs!!!


7.  And....I did not think I had lost the receipt for the above mentioned bulbs...and have to dig thru purse and wallet...and finally make a trip to the car to search there (yes, I found it)....so that I WILL NOT have to return bulbs I knew I was paying too much for in the first place....
....did I mention that already?!?!?!?

Woe is me!!!

All I could think of was this verse of scripture and how appropriate it is for me!!!

Matthew 6:34 (NLT)

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.
Today’s trouble is enough for today.
