The year that Big Brother was born....I was VERY creative.
That was the first year of my "semi-retirement"....so I crocheted....
.....A LOT!!!
Here's one of his Christmas gifts that year.
(his name is actually on the scarf!!)
Well...little did any of us know....that the very next year.....5 days before Christmas....that Little Bit would come along. I wasn't quite as on the ball that year.....so.....Little Bit had to wait....and wait....and wait!!!
Last year (since Little Bit was only a year old...and couldn't fuss at Nannie for being such a slacker).....The Dad got his stocking (because Jess already had one that I made for her when she was just an itty-bitty girl)!
Here's what The Dad got.....(can you tell he's into the outdoors?):
So....this year....I was bound and determined to get Little Bit's stocking made.....and here he is (again....Little Bit's "real" name is on the scarf!)
Since The Dad and Jess and the boys have a brand new home....with a fireplace and a mantle....I wanted Jess to have a new stocking, too....to go along with the theme. So...without further adieu....here she is:
A.....HOT PINK....
.....HIGH-HEELED....BOOT!!!
She's definitely my fave!!! She's wearing a pair of earrings and a bracelet (as a necklace)....that I inherited from my mother-in-law. I thought that would make it even more special to Jess!! And...if you'll look closely....I even put false eyelashes on her...to make her even more girly!!!
Each stocking is actually backed with upholstery fabric (to match the stocking)....to make it easier to fill up with lots of goodies!!!
Am I glad I'm finished? You betcha!!
But....I would be more than willing to crochet at least one more.....maybe for a precious little baby girl...(hint, hint!!)
(p.s....in case anybody is wondering....I don't have a pattern. I just sort of make them up as I go along....which results in A LOT of trial and error!!)
I'm linking to the following
(Met Monday...because I love transforming a skein of yarn into something entirely unexpected!!!)
Wow-you are creative. The pink heel is so cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting to the party.

I'm impressed! Love that camo stocking, totally cool. And the highheeled version is great. My gramma used to make us stocking every year, if you can believe that...usually just out of felt, but for 15 grandies. Thanks for linking up to the party!

ReplyDeletecan't wait to put them up!!!!!!!!
