Sometimes I get an idea for a post....and I'm out and about and don't have the opportunity to write it down....and I totally forget. I figure at times like that....maybe the thought was one of my own, and not what God actually wanted me to write that day. The idea for this post came to me Sunday....and I just happened to have my trusty little "journal" with me that I jot down notes from the sermons that I hear....so I'm thinkin' God had a part in this one.
I have lots of different "favorite" songs, as you well know....and the same goes for verses of scripture. I searched for the following verse the other day, and couldn't find it...not the exact wording that I was looking for....BUT GOD....
(love, love, love those 2 words together)....
BUT GOD showed them to me in the message that I heard last Sunday morning.
Ephesians 5:19
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.
How many times have you been in a difficult situation....or even when you're happy....the words to a song will just come to you and you can't help but singing...."making melody in your heart to the Lord".
But....did you know....that He sings to us, too?
I came across this verse of scripture and oh how it made me smile!
Zephaniah 3:17
The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
Not only do I sing to Him....but....He sings to me!
If you ever feel that you don't have a friend...that nobody understands....that you're all alone....please remember this verse of scripture from the old prophet Zephaniah....that God is in your midst. The verse says "He will save"...not that He's already saved us....but that He "will" continue to save us. He rejoices over us with joy....it doesn't say He hovers over us with sorrow over every little thing we do wrong....it says plainly that He rejoices over us....that He's happy that we belong to Him.
How do you feel about your children?
Your grandchildren?
Your loved ones?
Just think of one of them and how your heart fills up with such joy and pride at the mere thought of their sweet face. Then.....multiply that by....I don't even know how many times!!!
Can you even begin to fathom....that's how God feels about us....His own children?
He loves us so much....that He rejoices over us with singing!!!
So....on this day before Thanksgiving....I want to share with you this very special song. It really touched my heart...and I feel goes right along with us singing to our precious Savior....and Him singing to us!!!
(be sure and turn my PlayList off above before listening)
Ephesians 5:20
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hope each of you has a blessed Thanksgiving!
In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
