I was walking one morning....which, by the way....I've come to the BIG conclusion that I do not walk for weight loss...maybe to not gain any more...but my walking is mostly to keep from losing my mind...not weight!!!!
(ha! ha!....possibly more on that thought later!!!)
Okay....with that observation out of the way....let's talk a bit about "friends vs enemies".
I can't remember now what the thought process was that led to the quote
"keep your enemies close...your friends closer".....
....but....here are some questions for 'ya.
Do you have lots of friends?
Close friends?
People you confide in, love to hang out with, share things, go places with?
Do you have any enemies?
Whoa, Nellie? Me....enemies? Who wouldn't like me? Who wouldn't want to be my buddy, my friend, my pal?
So.....how did you answer that question....the one about
"do you have any enemies"?
If you don't have any....then, good for you!!
But....I can't say that.....because.....I do have an enemy.
This enemy haunts me....troubles me....causes me to worry....fret....think things I shouldn't....tries to get me to gossip....compromise my beliefs....get angry....be selfish, thinking only of myself....have a bad attitude....blame others for EVERYTHING that goes wrong in my life!!!
Yes...my dear friends.....I have an ENEMY!!!
And....this enemy has a name....it's Satan!!!
1 Peter 5:8 (NLT)
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
As for keeping him close....I want him to stay just where Jesus told him to go:
Luke 4:8 (KJV)
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
