Just for fun

What's our next big holiday....
It's VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
Don't you just love Valentine's Day???
The day of LOVE!!!

Remember the unconventional garland that I made at Christmas-time and made the letters that spelled "B-E-L-I-E-V-E" to go on it???
Well...I took it down off the bathroom mirror and hung it on a shelf in the dining/den.
And...I made letters to spell "H-a-p-p-y".
This garland is hanging on the shelf with pictures of our boys, who make me very, very happy...and the 5 generation picture of my Mamaw, Mom, Jess, Nannie, Big Brother and Little Bit (he was still in Momma's tummy).
Oh...did I tell you that I'm no longer Nana?
For whatever reason, Big Brother has changed my name to Nannie....
and....
I LOVE IT!!!

I also made a wreath. Now, this wreath is special to me because....we are in the process of going thru my mother-in-law's things and Pappy's brothers and sisters knew how much I wanted her sewing basket....which I got....YAY...thanks, guys (and gals) for not choosing it and letting me have it!!!

But, included with the basket was a tin full of buttons. I didn't want the buttons to just stay in the tin to be passed on to somebody else who would just keep them in the tin....so....I hot-glued a lot of them to a wreath that I first wrapped in pink satin ribbon, then made a bow for it.
I think it's kinda, sorta Valentiney looking!!!

So, that's it for my Valentine decorating so far. I do plan to make another wreath as soon as I can find the right form to put it on!!!
If you get a chance, tell me how you decorate...if you do...for Valentine's Day. Plus...be sending me some Valentiney (is that even a word???) recipes!!!
In His Love...and with mine!!!

  1. I LOVE your "happy" Garland and your button wreath, I know that it's really special to you :-)
when haley was about 1, she used to say "bocca" for button, and it was her favorite word and she played in her Nanas button tin-box every time we went down there, so she made haley a tshirt and sewed buttons, ALL over it. I still have it, I'll give it to her one day, when she has a little one LOL
hopefully in many many more years.
I just love how you decorate for all the holidays and all the fun and creative stuff you come up with.

  2. Cute button wreath!

My son called my sister Shannon "Nannie" when he couldn't say her full name! It was so cute.
