This is one of my very favorite quotes.
It brings to mind this verse of scripture: Hebrews 13:2 (KJV)
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
This isn't going to be a very long post, because I believe that the quote, the scripture, and the "poem", by Mother Teresa, all speak for themselves. Whatever we try to do in life...somebody, somewhere is more than likely going to have something negative to say. Like the poem says, they might accuse us of having an ulterior motive if we try to be helpful, or kind. Have you ever been in a situation like that...where you felt you were trying your best to help somebody (but, hopefully, you were doing it quietly...not bragging about it, which is not Biblical), but it seems like sometimes you just get "stabbed in the back" no matter how hard you try???
Dear friends, never avenge yourselves.
Leave that to God. For it is written,
"I will take vengeance; I will repay those who deserve it," says the Lord.
Love Them Anyway - by Mother Teresa
People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Be good anyway.
Honesty and frankness will make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People need help, but may attack you if you try to help them.
Help them anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.
In His Love...and with mine!!!
Thank you for this post.... I know it was posted for me from God.. I have tried so hard not to worry lately about little baby girl but it is so hard... I know I said the truth and I knew it would hurt on both sides... But the truth is where I stood firm... I guess they just did not realize how much stress that brought into my life... If they only knew how hard it is to tell the truth when you know the outcome of the truth would take her away from us...
