Resolution:
A decision to do something or to behave in a certain manner.
How many of you make New Year's resolutions????
I haven't made any in several years because I'm old enough to realize that I might keep them for a few weeks....oh, maybe even a couple of months.....then, I seem to fall back into my old habits....my old BAD habits!!!
But....I am going to make a few resolutions for 2009 that I want to share with all my blog readers....because maybe....just maybe....if I write them here, then you will help hold me accountable. E-mail me every once in a while and ask me how I'm doing on keeping up with these things that I resolved to do in the new year....please!!! I truly need all the help that I can get.
Now...having said that....I am a firm believer that if it's something that we truly want to change....we cannot do it on our own. I know that some of you aren't going to agree with me on this topic....but let's take Oprah for example (if you will click on her name you can watch for yourself what she believes.)
Now...Ms. Oprah thinks that she doesn't need the Lord. She seems to think that we can achieve whatever goal we set for ourselves on our very own...and she can "save" herself. We don't need any outside help...she came up with this brilliant idea while sitting in church...it actually dawned on her that she could do very well all on her own, thank you very much. Could this way of thinking be the reason that her ratings have gone down????? This thinking is called "New Age". And, if you watch the video, take note of the part where they just breathe...they are aware of themselves breathing in and out....do they not realize Who breathed into them the breath of life??? I would be so very afraid to think that I could save myself....only Jesus can do that....ONLY JESUS!!! Once upon a time.....many years ago.....I enjoyed watching her...because she truly seemed to give credit where it was due...to the Lord....but not any longer. I can't even remember the last time I watched her show.....isn't that a sad way for her to think? I know she needs our prayers....but, I'm just keeping it honest here....I find it difficult to pray for somebody so haughty and proud. I know that's a fault of mine...and I'll work on that...with God's help, of course!!! What's that saying..."pride goeth before the fall".....so.....let's always be careful to not think so highly of ourselves and to think that we can do it all on our own...without the help of our precious Savior.

Isaiah 64:6 (NLT)
We are all infected and impure with sin.
When we display our righteous deeds,
they are nothing but filthy rags.
Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall,
and our sins sweep us away like the wind.
God tells us in His Word that any righteousness that we have is nothing but "filthy rags". Now...is that not putting it bluntly? Who do we think we are if we say "look what I did"..."look at what I accomplished"..."look at me, world, I don't need anybody...I can do it all on my own". In my own life...if I've ever gotten to that point...then I fail...I fall...I stumble...and the good Lord shows me that without Him, I am totally N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!!

(P.S....do y'all think Oprah will be offended when she reads my blog and sees what my opinion of her way of thinking is????
My prayer is that any of you who reads my blog....will watch the video....and draw your own conclusion....and please, as a Christian....saved by grace, thru the blood of Jesus'....don't support her by watching her shows, or reading any book that she recommends!!! Just pray for her!!)

I use to be a faithful watching of her show. But your right when all this came out her new way of thinking I could not watch her anymore...
