Pappy and I spent yesterday working. He took the windows out in our sunroom and I cleaned them while he cleaned the tracks, then he put them back in. They are very heavy, and I could have never done the job by myself. We worked so well together. It reminded me of this verse of scripture:
Ecclesiastes 4:9 (NLT)
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.
Then, I got another chore done that I have been putting off for a long, long time. Ever since I quit work, I've wanted to take down the wallpaper and border in our den/dining room.
I decided to just go ahead and do it...all I had done was talk about it, which got nothing done, until I actually put it into action.
Proverbs 14:23 (NLT)
Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty!
Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty!
All of this is definitely not to brag...both were just things that needed to be done and we finally just quit talking about it and did it!!! It reminds me of working for the Lord. There are things that I would like to see happen...people saved...people to turn their lives back over to the Lord....but just wishing and hoping for it to happen isn't going to change one thing in their life. I have to put feet on my prayers for them and be willing to put forth an effort...sometimes a physical effort....to help them and see changes. I know that often I just get a little too comfortable and am not willing enough to get out of my comfort zone and take action. So...that is my prayer for each of us this week. As you go back to work, or school, after your day off ....pray that God will place somebody in your path that you can help...it might be praying for them...sharing scripture verses with them...or just providing a listening ear. I pray that God will take us out of our comfort zone and we can do more work for Him!!!
In His love...and with mine!!!
