If "if's, and's and but's", were candy and nuts,
everybody would have a Merry Christmas!!!
The first time I heard this saying was from my brother, and I had to ask him to repeat it....I laughed so hard!!!
My Mom and I still share it whenever one of us says
"if, and, or but"!!!
I guess I'm thinking about that little saying because it reminds me of living in the past. You know what I mean???....looking into your past and having a regret about something and saying, "if only", or "but if I had only known", or "and another thing". I have a couple of bad traits...okay, more than a couple...but a couple that relate to this line of thinking. I either live in the past...or way down the road in the future...and fail to enjoy the here and now. My Mom also has a little saying of her own..."one day at a time". I am really trying to start doing that. I seem to concern myself a lot with things that are in the past and that I can do absolutely nothing to change....or I'm taking one of those "future trips", where I'm concerned about the "what if", or "but", or "and another thing"!!! Sometimes I can't enjoy today because my mind is on what I have to take care of tomorrow!!!
So...please pray for me that I will be able to better enjoy my life...
one day at a time!!!
Matthew 6:34 (NLT)
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.
Today’s trouble is enough for today.
In His love...and with mine!!!
i believe i get this from you.
