I had almost forgotten about something that happened to me a few months ago until I read our daily scripture for today. I love Storybook Knit sweaters. I don't buy them for myself since I'm "retired"...plus...I would look rather silly wearing them out mowing the yard...ha! ha!...but, I bought my mother-in-law one that was so beautiful...peach colored and beading...gorgeous. Anyway...I purchased it from a lady on e-bay, and when she sent me the grand total, the shipping was more than I thought I had read on the item details, so I asked her about it. She got so angry with me for asking that question, and I promise I was not rude in my wording. I won't go into detail about what she said, but she was nasty. So...I sent her an e-mail back and told her that I was sorry, but I hadn't read what she was talking about, but I would pay her thru PayPal. I also said that I didn't understand why she had to be so rude to me when all I did was ask a question about something I didn't understand.
Guess what happened next?!?!?!?....she reported me to e-bay saying that she would not deal with somebody who badmouthed her, and she cancelled the transaction and refunded my money (at this point I had paid her)!!! Can you even believe that??? I could not believe this lady would do that.

Anyway...just a day or two later, I came across the scripture that was in our daily Bible reading today, and just knew that God was speaking to me about the situation.
Proverbs 7:9-10 (NKJV)
He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, and he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself. Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
You know what this whole entire thing is about??? Constructive Criticism. There was a time in my life that I would have reacted much in the same way. Instead of taking what was said and trying to better myself, I would just get mad at the person trying to be helpful.....I was only trying to politely point out that maybe she should treat her buyers a bit nicer, but she took what I said and ran in the opposite direction...in a direction that I certainly did not see fixing to happen...I was so disappointed that my mother-in-law didn't get the beautiful sweater!!! :(
P.S...I kept checking to see if she re-listed the sweater, but she didn't....and she has no listings at all on e-bay now, and hasn't for some time.
I think what my Mom used to tell me fits this situation:
"You can draw more flies with honey than you can vinegar"!!!
Now, on to a happier topic!!
Happy Half Birthday!!!
Pappy and Nana love you so very much!!!
